How to Create a New Self Image That Supports You
How your self image affects you, your decisions and actions unconsciously.................
Have you noticed that there are people who seem to get all the breaks without putting any effort into anything and there are people who work so hard and always fall short of their goal?
Sometimes you look at a person and you think they have perfect ideal look or talents to be someone special, but then you see someone who you wouldn't give them a second look or even take them serious, but it is the second person who ends up becoming the most successful while the first person is just average and ordinary.
Why is that? What makes some people stand out when everything is against them to succeed then the one with all the opportunities let it slip through their fingers?

The 7 Keys to Success
What are you doing with your life? Would you say you are living your dream or are you living from hand to mouth, making the best of things; just getting to the next week; what we might call existing rather than living?
If you are living your dream, then well done; you are truly on the road to success. If you are not living your dream - or even if you have no dream at present - then do not despair because this little book was written for you. We are going to help you find your dream, develop it and then to actually achieve it!
To live a truly successful life, you do need to first have a dream. As Carl Sandburg, American historian, poet and novelist put it, "nothing happens unless first a dream".
If you think about it, nothing at all now exists within our experience of physical reality that did not first exist in the mind of the person who made it or brought it into being. In all cases, everything is created twice; the physical creation follows the mental creation.
To succeed, you must have a dream, or you may prefer to call it a vision, and you must commit yourself to it's ultimate fulfilment - that is the essence of the mental creation.
Here is one of the real secrets of success;

Why Not Me, Why Not You?
Why not me? That is all I have heard lately as people admire the successes of the Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg's and Sara Blakely's of our modern world. And you ask- why not me? It is pretty freaking simple people, it can be! Trust me when I say this- I hate sounding like a cliché too, but it is possible.
How the hell do you think that those people plus the hundreds of thousands of others that have capitalized on a life changing idea or product do it? It is very, very simple. They just take the chance and do it without looking back.
We as humans have a very easy time with making simple tasks difficult and easy decisions seem impossible. Why the hell do we do this? We do this because it is easier than the alternative- to actually do it. Nike has it right- "Just Do It."
It may seem scary at first, but you must embrace that feeling of doubt and uncertainty, because that is where magical stuff happens. It does not happen by embracing what society tells you to do which is to sit at your desk for 30 years, work a mundane job fulfilling someone else's dream instead of your own, work your 9-5 hours because that is what you were told to do, then drive home, and rinse and repeat this cycle until your miserable robot life comes to an end. But hey, he lived a good life as a drone. On the day when friends and family come to view you laying motionless on your back in a box they will ask, "What were his/her major accomplishments, what was their legacy that he/she left behind?"
Answer: They followed directions well and stayed within the lines of society and conformed to the rules of someone else. Does this sound like the mediocre life of most people you know? Maybe even yourself? Be honest now... I thought so.
This is NOT the life I choose to live. Yes, we all have a choice! Even when you think you do not have a choice, you are consciously making a decision to NOT have a choice. Think about that one for a second.
It is very easy to say, "I do not conform, that's not me, I make my own rules." I know, because that was me about a year ago until I said those two words that changed my life forever- I'm out!
In order to do something you first have to de-program yourself of all the garbage our society has corrupted you with over the course of your existence here on earth, and learn to be able to greet Ms. uncomfortable uncertainty with open arms and give that scary hag the biggest bear hug you can! Once you learn to recognize that specific feeling of uncertain chance creeping in on you, it will be up to you whether you open the door for the unknown to enter and change your life forever, or shut that door and contemplate the unknown. Then you will be stuck with the evil mistress of regret, and spend a fair portion of your robot life with the questions," If I woulda, if I coulda, if I shoulda."
To me, that is not a life. That is a day to day existence. Much like being a pinball being bounced around in a more serious game called life.
Once you're done making excuses for being a pinball, and fed up with the monotony of your Johnny 5 robot life, remember those two powerful words that helped me escape. And then, you will be the one facilitating how to replicate the path of your own successes.
Our reality is subjective and can be easily manipulated and changed by the conscious decisions we make every single minute, every single day.
Why wouldn't you want to leave a legacy of substance and have people comparing their lifestyle dreams to your reality?
Next time you are alone with your thoughts, comparing yourself to someone that you admire for whatever reason, stop asking the question- "Why not me?" Start demanding the statement-- "Why not me!"

The 7 Keys to Success
When I was quite young, someone told me, “If you want to be really successful, find out what God wants to you to do with your life and then dedicate yourself to achieving it”.
At the time, I didn’t really like that idea; I did not believe that my life could have any particular purpose and I did not think that anything God might have in mind would be of any interest to me in any case. Gradually, I have come to believe that what that person said to me, all those years ago, is true.
As human beings, we all share certain basic wants and needs: we have need for food, water, shelter, safety, love, respect and self esteem. We all share an in-built tendency, as Freud stated, to want to move away from pain and toward pleasure. This tendency is part of the human condition for our own good; it keeps us away from harm and generally helps us to make good choices. Most people settle for pursuing a career that satisfies these basic human wants and needs and never really think beyond them to what their life could be about.
Somewhere along the line, I came to realise that what God wanted for my life, and what I wanted, were one and the same thing. This understanding came after I had determined to find out what God actually wanted me to do with my life.
It was a profound moment for me. I gradually came to understand my inner hopes, dreams and deepest desires as being implanted by God. So pursuing God’s purpose for my life was, in fact, also pursuing my own purpose. When it really came down to it, I finally realised that I needed to look within to discover my own purpose and once I had found out what it was, it then became possible to dedicate myself to fulfilling it.
So my message to you is simple: it is time for you to wake-up! It is time for you to start thinking of your life in a different way. It is time for you to fulfil your dream - whatever that may be. That is why you are here on the planet right now. By finding and fulfilling your own unique purpose

Raising Children Who Succeed
It is one of the most powerful things any person alive can do, to choose to raise a child. Whether he or she is a genetically related child or one you have gained from another family, a child is a life long commitment. It’s worse than a puppy!
There is a well known saying that to have a child is to wear your heart forever outside your body. TO some extent that is true. Think teenage angst was bad? It’s noting on the first time you have to deal with your own child’s heartbreak!
With our busy lives it is so easy to become geared up to making sure our children have all the essentials covered, such as food, shelter, learning to read and write, and all those important jobs done, that we forget that so much of what our children need us for is for us to impart a spark of desire in them to succeed, to become all they were made to be.
It’s the drive of many parents to watch their child surpass them in their life in some way. Whether it is with a talent, a discovered passion, or their standard of living, children should be able to combine what they learn from our mistakes, and our life lessons with the lessons and opportunities they themselves face and collate them together to succeed.
To have a successful child we need to create a childhood that breeds success. The best part about this is it doesn’t cost you thousands of dollars in private school fees or in plenty of extra curricular activities. In fact with just a little time, some listening and a whole lot of talking you can beat those things in most part hands down.
Helping a child succeed in today’s world is a little different than it was a few generations ago. Back then, it was considered wise to teach your child to become a salary and wage earner, working in a stable job from the moment they left school until retirement.
Success was measured by how long you stayed in the same job. Consistency and stability were the favoured attributes.
Then it was all about working your way up, about starting out in the business, any business and working your way up to the top, not worrying about whose toes you may step on on the way.

Personal Development
Entrepreneurs will benefit greatly if they take the time to understand and master two important factors in order to achieve ultimate success - the external and the internal. The external refers to the marketplace, the environment, and other factors that exist outside of the entrepreneur and the business.
The internal refers to the conditioning, weaknesses, fears and doubts of the entrepreneur as a business leader and a person. Continuous personal development is an important part of being a successful entrepreneur. Time must be set aside every day to focus on what improvements can be made internally to improve not only the business but also the quality of the entrepreneur`s life.
Personal development and professional development go hand in hand. Effectiveness is largely a result of the kind of habits that successful people have developed over time. These habits can be learned as part of an entrepreneur's personal development. These habits include inspired action, balance, flexibility, discipline and planning. All of these habits can be learned over time.
Personal development is a lifelong journey. The more you know about yourself, the more you will know about others and you`ll find that your relationships improve. Consider it an investment in your future and the future of your business.
The first step is to make a realistic assessment of your current level of personal productivity. This doesn`t just mean how well your business is doing. Your personal life must be a part of this assessment as well. Perhaps you need to do a better job of scheduling time for both your business and your family, or maybe you have a hard time dealing with change. Whatever your challenges turn out to be, you cannot address them until you know what they are.
The next step is to develop a plan for your own personal development. That plan can be as simple as reading self-help books on the specific habits you need to work on, or it can include taking classes on line or at a local community college to address your personal area of weakness. Working this into your already busy schedule can be difficult if you allow it, but it`s very important. Get up a little earlier if necessary, but set aside a quiet hour for reflections, study and growth. Unless you make your personal development a priority by devoting time every day, you will never experience any improvement.
Another great strategy for personal development is to find a mentor. Learning from somebody with more experience than you can greatly reduce your learning curve, allowing you to develop much faster. Not only can mentors teach you from their experience, they can use that experience to spot your challenges and help you develop your own personal improvement plan. You can find mentors locally, or you can search online for a professional business mentor who can design a plan that meets your needs for your personal development.
Personal development is an important piece to the entrepreneurial puzzle. Your current level of personal effectiveness can only take you so far. Create a vision a level of success far beyond what you are experiencing today and then you look for ways or steps that you can take to improve yourself first. You will grow into the vision you hold. It's only through developing the habits of success that you will ever gain the tools, people and events you need to rise to the next level and beyond. Your future success depends on your dedication to your own personal development.

How to Find Your Purpose in Life: A Real-LIfe Example of How One Successful Entrepreneur Did It
Richard Leider, a leading authority and author of numerous books on how to find your purpose in life wrote in The Power of Purpose:
If our purpose is genuine enough, it involves us deeply and orders all areas of our life. We begin to eliminate what is irrelevant and what is so much clutter. A simplification takes place, and we achieve a clarity as to what we're about. We don't need to pretend to be what we're not. What is of real importance stands out more clearly.
As a success coach, I hear a lot of stories of from those who take this advice to heart. Here's one I want to share with you to illustrate you how once you answer the question "What is my purpose?", the steps you need to take to achieve it becomes very clear. As Leider so eloquently said, we begin to eliminate what is irrelevant.
Finding Your Purpose In Life: How It Changed Everything for This Successful Business Owner
This entrepreneur owned a successful real estate business. Though she loved her profession, it wasn't a burning desire. What she really wanted to do was write; she'd known that since she was a small child. Realizing that she'd always loved the water (the ocean), she said she also wanted to live someplace where she could see it day in and day out. Her third goal was to travel.
However, everything she was doing in life was taking her away from what her real passions were in life. For example, lived in a land-locked, cosmopolitan city with no ocean near; she owned investment properties, which left her with very little time to escape to some place near the water and write; let alone travel for months at a time.
Finding Your Passion in Life: The Value of Having a Life Plan
One day, she said she actually sat down and wrote out her life plan. Upon seeing in black and white that she was working against herself on almost every level, she decided to make some drastic changes.
She sold her real estate holdings, started an online business that gave her the flexibility to work from anywhere and settled on a small Caribbean island where she wrote every day.
Now, this didn't happen overnight, and she said she lived a "lower standard" of living than she had before. While her friends and family thought she'd lost her mind on some level, she said she'd never been happier.
Stress: The Silent Killer
As a side bonus, she said she also lost 30 pounds (without really trying) and felt more content.
As an aside, one real drawback of not "living your life on purpose" is stress. It's a silent killer. It's a major contributing factor - directly and/or indirectly - to a whole host of diseases, eg, coronary artery disease, cancer, respiratory disorders, cirrhosis of the liver and suicide, which is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.
Back to our entrepreneur - she not only asked the question, "what is my purpose in life," she answered it and took definitive action. And this is what Leider meant when he said when you know your purpose -- a simplification takes place... what is of real importance stands out more clearly.
Success: The Easy Part of Living Your Life on Purpose
As a success coach, I can tell you, success also becomes that much more likely - because you're fueled by your very spirit, your heart, your soul, your being. Because of this, you have the energy you need to do what you may have thought was impossible before.
So spend some time digging inside to find your purpose in life - and get busy pursuing it. It's a choice you'll never regret - as I've witnessed many times personally in my work -- and as this story so clearly illustrates.

Don't Wait For Your Ship To Come In - Swim Out And Meet It!
Growing up in a single-parent household, and one with little resources, it was a common refrain from Mom upon all requests from my sister and me for anything extra, "Wait until my ship comes in." Maybe you heard that as your grew up or perhaps you say it to your own children today.
If I asked for those white, high top, Chuck Taylor basketball shoes, or just shoes that didn't have a hole in the sole, the answer was always, wait until my ship comes in. My sister and I are pretty sure that the ship was sunk off the coast of Jacksonville Beach and was never seen again.
As working professionals, we catch ourselves thinking, if not saying, things will be better if only my ship comes in, or I win the lottery, or a rich relative gets promoted to the church triumphant, or... you get the picture. We pass on that attitude to our family, co-workers and friends. It becomes a deeply entrenched; however, potentially negative way of planning for your future. The feelings that we are downtrodden and there is no way out of the current economic challenges except by some miraculous occurrence that has the same odds as winning the Powerball, or about 17 million to one, is debilitating.
The energy that you expend on unproductive thoughts can be better used. One of life's hard lessons is that you are complicit in your failure. You cannot claim credit for success unless you also own failure. That hurts doesn't it? I know about failure on a grand scale. It's a human characteristic (blunder is more descriptive) to lay the blame for our short comings and failures at the feet of others. I have done that too.
There are lots of valid reasons, excuses, and events beyond our control that contribute to success and failure. There are thousands of books on self improvement, motivation, and anecdotal stories of overcoming both. Here's a little secret... you need to be OCD to be successful in your personal and professional lives.
What's OCD, you ask? Its three keys to success that have been distilled to their simplest meaning and instruction.
Objective: You have to have them or at least one. Call it a mission, call it a vision, what you call it is not important. Why do you do the things you do? For whom?
Commitment: Stick to it, don't give up, and press on. You are accountable for your own success or failure. Nothing changes if nothing changes.
Direction: Taking the right actions, for the right reasons, at the right time, with the right people, produces the right outcomes.
Find whatever it is that you are passionate about and get to it. Each of us has a talent and skill to do something and when you add the desire for that vocation that is in your heart, success will not be denied.
Don't wait on your ship to come in. Swim out to it and climb aboard to greet it.

Mind Secrets Exposed
The human mind is an amazing machine and is capable of some miraculous feats that confuse the most learned scientist. We know little of the mind, except that it is powerful and we don’t tap into its full potential. There are plenty of people who are interested in uncovering the truth about the mind and utilizing its full power. There are a corresponding number of self-help books available on the Internet that claim to allow access to these hidden depths – but most of them fail to deliver on their promise.
But here comes Greg Frost and his latest book, Mind Secrets Exposed. This book is a great tool for anyone who wants to enhance their mind and the quality of their life and the best part is that this book works. Mind Secrets Exposed is filled with comprehensive information on how the mind works and how one can tap into its potential. Greg Frost also provides great techniques and strategies for accessing the full power of the mind, from visualization to focusing exercises, allowing the reader to accomplish anything they want.
The book comes in the standard e-book format, as well as an audiobook, for those who want to access the contents on the go. Each chapter focuses on a different part of the mind and how to fully utilize that function to achieve success and accomplish goals. The end of each chapter is capped off with exercises and guides, providing the reader with several ways to apply the concepts discussed in the chapter in real-life. These efficient guides add practicality and applicability to the theories found in Mind Secrets Exposed.
Beyond the book itself, Mind Secrets Exposed also comes with Quick Wealth System and Success Monthly. The first is a simple guide on how to easily and efficiently improve your financial situation and provides advice on creating wealth and income. The second is a monthly newsletter that enhances the material found in Mind Secrets Exposed, ranging from scientific articles discussing the brain, to biographies of famous figures in history and how the reader can learn from these shining examples.
Success Monthly also comes with a coaching system that provides an in-depth guide on enhancing success and becoming more productive, efficient and effective. The coaching system comes in video format and consists of a definitive guide on becoming an achiever in a direct, easily understandable manner.
The newsletter is made available for those who become members, which requires paying a monthly fee. For those who might think that this is too much of an investment, buying Mind Secrets Exposed gives you the first month for free, allowing you access to the newsletter and letting you judge its worth for yourself. I heartily recommend becoming a member, as the newsletter contains valuable information and content that cannot be found elsewhere.
In short, Mind Secrets Exposed, and all of the supplementary materials that come with it, is one of the few books available that truly explore the depths of the mind and provides effective techniques on using its full power. For its incredibly affordable price, Mind Secrets Exposed is a valuable resource that cannot be overlooked. I recommend this book 100% and suggest you get your copy as soon as possible.

Why Average People Remain Average By Patric Chan
If you do what you're expected to do, don't expect an outstanding result, my friend.
Study successful people and you'll sure to discover one thing that many of them would have in common... they live by that words of “always do more than what is expected of you”
I don't care. It could be sleeping an hour less everyday to have more time to build your wealth or whatsoever.
Whether you are mowing people's lawn or someone is mowing your lawn, when you are teaching a seminar or being a participant, or when sharing your knowledge or giving advice to your people, always do or give more than what people expect. Then they will flock around you, they will line up to meet you and be happy to support you in whatever thing that you want to do next.
If you're training to be a champion, don't just train like an average player. Train more than you're expected to train.
If you're building a multi-level marketing business, increase the numbers of prospects you would like to meet everyday. If it used to be 10, now you would have at least 12. By just increasing your effort 20%, you'll end up with 60 new prospects a month. Now, that's what I called exponential.
Trying to win a girl's heart? I'm not surprise that you could be “competing” with three other guys for the same girl. And you can only win if you're giving more than all of them if everyone's equal. I'm not saying giving more money or buying stuff' give love, time or whatever that counts to her.
Whenever you are interacting with people or in a relationship, treat the other party extremely well.
Whatever is expected of you in that relationship, be it with your girlfriend or business partner or client, your spouse or your friend, always do or give more than what is expected of you in that relationship for that is the secret of making it a success. It is not that you have to do or give a whole lot more; you have to do just a little bit more than the rest. That's it. The 10mm-difference is what Anthony Robbins calls it for you to become outstanding... in any undertaking.
To do this, it's not difficult. But most people are just too lazy to put in the effort. I'm one of them but I'll always keep reminding myself this' winner takes all. There is no second place, my friend. I would rather strive with the extra effort to get #1 because the pay off is many times greater.
Do you remember who the second best basketball player is? Nope. You can remember Michael Jordan because he's #1. In fact, as far as I know, there's no such place as 'the second best basketball player'.
Who's the second fastest runner in the world? Who knows. I just know the #1.
Others have called this 'more than expected attitude' as 'going for the extra mile'. Notice that they don't say the extra 10 miles.
How come?
Because the average persons don't bother to do more than what is expected of them. I know it's sad but that's the truth.
To most people, "always do more than what is expected of you" are mere words and they don't put substance to it because people are greedy and they just want to do the bare minimum to make money, to make a profit or whatever.
And guess what... successful people are never your average persons.
To be generous and to treat others extremely well, you must come from the perspective of abundance thinking. Then only “always doing more than what is expected of you” will come easy and naturally.
So the next time you are with somebody, or in a business negotiation, or just interacting with another person, ask how can I help you... without even expecting any return.
As the other saying goes-- you have to give, in order to get. In fact, if you want to gather riches you have to be as generous as you can. Touch people's lives profoundly, in ways that they would never forget. Give it forward... help another and that person will help another. Always do more than what is expected of you. Do this and the reward will come to you 10 folds or 100 folds when you are least expecting it.
Do you think you can do more than what you're doing today? Of course you can. The question is... DO YOU WANT OR NOT? You'll have to decide for your own future on that.

Personal Growth
Perhaps the most important realization that an individual can make in their quest for personal growth is that there is no single formula that defines the path to personal success. We all have different goals and priorities, which means that different activities and attitudes will make us feel good about ourselves. We also have different natural strengths and weaknesses that are a part of our inherent personality type. How then, as individuals, can we feel successful in our lives?
For example, there are situations in which it is more appropriate and effective to show compassion and caring (Feeling), rather than impersonal logic (Thinking). Likewise, there are situations that call for using impersonal logic to make a decision, in which the more subjective viewpoint of the Feeling function is inappropriate and ineffective. Persons with a preference for Feeling will have a natural advantage over Thinkers in situations that require compassion and awareness of other's emotions. Conversely, persons with a preference for Thinking will have a natural advantage over Feelers in situations that require the ability to make a decision based on impersonal data.
As we learn about our personality type and the types of others, we are empowered with an understanding of why people react differently in different situations. When put into the context of Psychological Type, we can better accept and understand people's behaviors that are different from ours. These insights are extremely useful and powerful to us as individuals. However, if we are concerned with growing as individuals, we must take care not to use personality type as an excuse for our inappropriate behavior. While it's powerful and useful to notice that another person's inappropriate behavior may be due to their personality type, we cannot use the same reasoning on ourselves. We should recognize that our personality type has weaknesses, but we must use that knowledge to conquer those weaknesses rather than to excuse poor behavior. We cannot be responsible for other people's behavior, but we can control our own.
Accordingly, if we notice that someone seems to be unable to make an impersonal decision that is isolated from human perspective, we should say to ourselves, "Ah ha, here is a Feeler. This person does not use Thinking well, and that is why they're behaving this way." Yet when we as Feelers are presented with a situation that requires an impersonal approach, we should NOT say to ourselves "I am a Feeler, and can't be expected to make decisions based purely on impersonal facts and logic." This kind of rationalization for behavior is certainly an easy way out of a situation, but it enforces the weakness, making it weaker and weaker still.
A situation in which the dominant function of a personality completely overshadows the other personality functions is analogous to a kingdom that is ruled by an overbearing king who requires absolute servitude. Imagine such a king sitting down to dinner in his castle. He keeps all of his servants running about to bring him dinner, and requires that they serve him fully (disregarding their own needs) until he is completed sated. His Foreign Minister, who is expected at an important affair at a neighboring kingdom, finds himself pouring ale. His Minister of Domestic Affairs, rather than addressing the issue of a failing economy, slices roast turkey. His staff grabs food for themselves here and there, but never get what they really need or want, and are consequently unsatisfied, malnourished, and underdeveloped. The issues that the staff should be taking care of are left undone, because they never finish their primary task of serving the king. The king's immediate needs are being met, and so he is tolerably happy, but he is an ineffective king. As far as he knows, everything and everybody exists simply to serve him. He has no concept of Success beyond his daily needs. Since he cannot see beyond his own needs, the entire kingdom suffers.
Likewise, a personality that has developed with a goal of serving the dominant function above all other considerations often results in a person who is imbalanced. In severe cases, the weaknesses associated with the given type are often quite apparent to others, and overshadow the individual's natural strengths. Such a drastic imbalance is not common, and may be the result of continuous and extreme stress. Most people will experience times in their lives during which they are stressed to the point of serious imbalance. People who experience this constantly have issues that need to be dealt with, and should seek help.
Much more commonly, we see individuals who exhibit both the strengths and weaknesses of their type. It is natural and healthy that each personality type is ruled by a dominant function, and that the other functions support the ruling function. We don't seek to change anyone's natural self, or to achieve a perfect balance amongst a personality's functions. By definition, a kingdom needs a king in order to exist, and a personality needs a dominant function. However, a kingdom with a well-developed and effective king (the dominant function), who has well-trained and educated advisors (the supporting functions), will thrive more than the kingdom ruled by a neglectful king who is supported by inexperienced advisors.
As we can see, Balance and Success are relative terms. They have different meaning for each of the sixteen personality types. One statement using these terms is true for all types: Balance is the key to Success.
There is no quickie scheme that will make you a successful person. Psychological Type is a powerful aid in our quest for excellence, but it is not the actual solution. It is a model that will help you to expand your understanding of human nature. An improved understanding of yourself and others will help you to find, follow or expand your path. An awareness and acceptance of the fact that one personality function may be more effective than another function in a given situation will help you to understand the relevance of personal growth to your life.
Carl Jung identified a process of personal growth that he called individuation, which is essentially the conscious realization of your true self, beyond the Ego that is presented by your conscious self. Our efforts to help people develop themselves is essentially the effort to help them to realize that their personal perspectives and conscious ideas are only a small part of who they are, and that the more they try to develop and defend this superficial "self", the further they get away from their true Self. This realization helps a psyche in many concrete ways, and is also a positive step towards promoting a psyche that is open to the process of individuation. For the purposes of making this realization accessible to the general public, our writings are mostly void of complex theoretical discussion.

Understand What's Important to You
Each personality type has a different idea of what it means to be successful. Self-knowledge is one common goal that will help everyone achieve personal success. So many people are hung up on somebody else's idea of what it means to be successful, and they are unaware of what is truly important to them. This is completely normal. We all have important role-models and influencers in our lives who may have basic values that are quite different from our own. If this is the case, it's important to recognize that the discrepancy between what we have been taught is truly important and what we personally believe to be truly important is due to a difference in perspective. If we spend our time and effort trying to meet somebody else's idea of success, and ignore or belittle any conflicting messages from our own psyche, then we will find ourselves exhausted and unhappy. Realizing what is truly important to us is a major step towards achieving personal success.
Recognize Your Weaknesses Without Hiding Behind Them
While improving our self-knowledge and realizing our true goals can be very liberating, we should not discard the rules of the society in which we live. We must recognize that other people's value systems are no less important than our own. And we must recognize and accept that we live in a society in which certain personality types and behaviors are more suited towards particular tasks. This is the second key that will open the door towards personal growth.

This kind of rationalization for behavior is certainly an easy way out of a situation, but it enforces the weakness, making it weaker and weaker still.
Strive for Balance
Most of the weaknesses associated with any given personality type are a result of that type's dominant function overtaking the personality to the extent that the other functions become slaves to the dominant function. Although it is natural for every personality to be ruled by its dominant function, it becomes a problem when the supporting functions are not allowed to develop fully on their own because they are too busy "serving the master". In such cases, a personality can become quite imbalanced.A situation in which the dominant function of a personality completely overshadows the other personality functions is analogous to a kingdom that is ruled by an overbearing king who requires absolute servitude. Imagine such a king sitting down to dinner in his castle. As we can see, Balance and Success are relative terms. They have different meaning for each of the sixteen personality types. One statement using these terms is true for all types: Balance is the key to Success.
Opening the Door
So how do we go about realizing what's truly important to us? How do we recognize our weaknesses, and learn not to hide behind them? How do we become balanced? How do we open that magical door that will show us the way to personal growth and success? There is no quickie scheme that will make you a successful person.
